Lunch Time Sketch #1

I'll try and keep this up. I realized that I don't sketch nearly as much as I'd like to. Turns out I have some great subject matter at home. A quick sketch of Lillian.

Cowboys

I just realized that he kind of looks like George Bush 41, James Garner, and John Wayne..if they mated.

Character Designs

These are some character designs I did for a property that apparently will never see the light of day. Never the less it was a ton of fun and it finally gave me the opportunity to collaborate with my brother Tom. Moreover, it was a great history lesson. For instance; did you know that Ben Franklin invented flippers, was an advocate of weight lifting until he was riddled with the gout late in his life? Who knew? It was great to spend some time with my true passion; Character Design. Sigh.

Grace Veronica Frances

Grace is almost 2?! Time flies, and I figured it's about time I did a a drawing of the little lady. She's much cuter in person, but I did my best. .

MADBALLS!!

Yeah, they're back! This work in progress is for a Madball gallery show we're having here at AG. I was fortunate enough to be included in the event; amongst some outstanding artists. Check out the Madball Guru at jgroman.blogspot.com and/or madballscentral.blogspot.com. He's responsible for these abominations we call madballs.
Anywho, this is the first time I've used Painter since I learned how in college, so it's a little rough still. Enjoy.

Lebron

This is a caricature of LBJ I did for a Cavs charity event. I did him and several other Cavs greats painted on two pair of basketball shoes. They wanted the to have an "Urban, Hip-hop vibe." Apparently they didn't know that I own John Denver's Greatest Hits and I am hip-hop illiterate, but I gave it a shot and I think they turned out okay.

More Stuff

These are some illustrations I did at the beginning of the year. They're chapter illustrations from The Elves of Owl's Head Mountain and The Land of the Nen-Us-Yok; available on Amazon.com or whole sale through Baker and Taylor, or ask your local library if they have it, if not demand that they do. For info go to http://www.atlasbooks.com/coldriver/elves.htm

And yes, yes that was just a shameless plug for me to sell more books. So go buy one.

Hell Boy

I suppose Hell Boy could fit into the Halloween theme. This my first time ever drawing Hell Boy, a lot of fun actually. It's not finished, but maybe I'll post the finished version later... No I probably won't. Let's be honest, I'll never finish it.

Franken Fairy

Happy Halloween, and welcome to my blog. It only took me the better part of four years, but I finally did. I know it's pretty amazing that I did it that quickly. But the good thing is I can post a bunch of old crap I did over those four years and you're none the wiser. It's new to you. (And by you I mean me, 'cause as of now I'm probably the only one reading this.) These are some illustrations from greeting card concepts that'll never see the light of day.
